Refugees from Ukraine will be accommodated in the central pavilion of the Romexpo exhibition complex, according to a decision adopted on Tuesday, unanimously, by the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest.
At the beginning of the meeting, Bucharest general mayor Nicusor Dan declared that taking over the Romexpo space in order to house the refugees is an important project, in the context of the crisis in Ukraine.
"It's a big space that we're going to operate, that we need," he said.
The expenses entailed by utilities, security, cleaning or the arrangement of the necessary facilities will be borne by the local budget of the Municipality of Bucharest.
