The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) issued two RO-ALERT messages on Tuesday morning for Galati County following a report from the Air Force General Staff (SMFA) signalling the presence of possible small aerial targets near the border between Romania and Ukraine.
The first message targeted the eastern area of the county, while the second was issued for the entire territory of Galati County, agerpres reports.
"The alerts were sent after a notification from the SMFA reporting possible small aerial targets near the Romania-Ukraine border. The RO-ALERT messages aimed to inform and advise the population to take basic protective measures and shelter in case the situation worsened. During the monitored period, no incidents or negative effects were reported in Galati County. Likewise, no calls were received at the 112 emergency number following the messages," stated ISU Galati.

The Ministry of National Defence's radars detected a target approaching Romanian airspace on the morning of 25 November near Tulcea County. At 06:28, two German Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base were scrambled to monitor the situation, according to a press release from the Ministry.
The target crossed national airspace from the direction of Valcove (Ukraine) to the Chilia Veche area in Tulcea County.
At 06:55, a RO-ALERT message was issued for Tulcea County.
At 07:11, the Eurofighter Typhoons reported radar contact with the target above Ukrainian territory, outside Romanian airspace.
At 07:37, two F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft from the 86th Air Base Borcea were scrambled, and at 07:48 a RO-ALERT message was also issued for Galati County.
At 07:50, radar systems detected a second intrusion into Romanian airspace over Galati County, with the F-16 aircraft establishing radar contact.
