Romania and Hungary signed, on Wednesday, a Memorandum for the restoration of the railway connection between Timisoara and Szeged, the Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, informs in a post published on his Facebook page.
"Together with the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Peter Szijjarto, we signed today a memorandum for the restoration of the railway connection between Timisoara and Szeged. We also discussed the provision of road connections at the Romanian-Hungarian border: the status of the new border crossing point between Beba Veche and Kubekhaza, the establishment of a connecting road between the localities of Cenad and Magyarcsanad through the bridge over the Mures River," said Grindeanu.
Discussions also concerned the current stage of tenders for the construction of the Express Roads Oar - Satu Mare and Arad - Oradea, which will connect with the road infrastructure on the territory of Hungary.
For his part, the Hungarian minister reaffirmed Hungary's determination to support Romania's accession to the Schengen Area and land borders during the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU), which he holds for six months.
