Romania, India sign official documents on President Murmu's visit to Bucharest

Several official documents in the areas of education, science and sports were signed on Thursday between Romania and India, on the occasion of the state visit of President Droupadi Murmu.

Thus, a memorandum of understanding was signed at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace between the University of Bucharest and the Indian Institute for Cultural Relations regarding the establishment of the Department of Indian Studies.

On behalf of Romania, the rector of the University of Bucharest, Marian Preda, and on the Indian side, the Indian ambassador to Romania, Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, signed.

Also, a cooperation programme in the field of science and technology was signed between the National Research Authority of the Ministry of Education and Research of Romania and the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology of India. Signing on behalf of Romania was Chairman of the National Research Authority Andrei Alexandru, and on behalf of India was ambassador Mohapatra.

At the same time, a joint declaration of intent in the field of sports was signed between the National Sports Agency of Romania and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of India.

Signing the document were Chairman of the National Agency for Sports Constantin-Bogdan Matei and ambassador Mohapatra.
