Romania needs to change mentality when making public policies for seniors (Liberal's chairman Ciuca)
Senate president and National Liberal Party chairman Nicolae Ciuca said on Saturday that Romania must change its mentality when making public policies for seniors, and it is necessary to start from the idea that aging is an increase in wisdom, not a degradation.
"In a world in pursuit of novelty and artificial intelligence, the experience and wisdom of our seniors are often untapped resources. In PNL, we want the senior liberals to be a true think-tank of the party, a source of ideas for the objectives we set. It was a real joy to be with them today at the summer school meeting and to convey to them all my appreciation. Many of those in the room are those who made the Revolution of 1989, being in the prime of their lives, they are the generation that sacrificed for democracy, for freedom, for the free market, and PNL assumes the duty to reward these efforts. Romania's seniors must be seen as a social value, a heritage value, because tomorrow's Romania also rests on them," Ciuca wrote on Facebook.
He emphasizes that liberal seniors are benchmarks from which today's young people can learn real patriotism.
"I also firmly believe that, in the context of the rise of noisy nationalism and extremism, liberal seniors are benchmarks from which today's young people can learn real, unshouted patriotism, supported by deeds, not words and promoting moderate conservatism and moral values," PNL president Nicolae Ciuca also said.
