Chairman of the Romanian Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (FRCF) Gabriel Toncean, executive director of the World Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, announced on Monday that Romania has officially submitted its bid to host the 2027 World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships.

"Romania has officially submitted a bid to host the World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship - IFBB, in 2027. It is a natural approach, built on remarkable results by Romanian athletes in recent years, but also on the proven ability of our federation to host international competitions at the highest standards. This bid is a new opportunity to consolidate Romania's position in the elite of world sports and to capitalise, from a strategic perspective, on the potential that sports have in promoting the national image. I want to thank all the organisational partners who support this initiative through the support offered to FRCF. We continue to build, through sports, a respected name for Romania," Toncean wrote in a social media post.
