Military cooperation between the Romanian and Polish Armies was among the items on the agenda of discussions on Thursday between the Chief of the General Staff (SMA), General Nicolae Ionel Ciuca, and his Polish counterpart, General-Lieutenant Rajmund Andrzejczak.

According to the MApN release sent to AGERPRES, the meeting between the two officials took place on the sidelines of the activities organised at the Joint Training Centre Getica on the Day of Distinguished Guests, part of the multinational exercise Scorpions Fury 18.

"The agenda of discussions included military cooperation between the Romanian and Polish armies, joint training, sharing of the lessons learnt at the Joint Training Centre Getica in Cincu and the other results after the setting up of the Multinational Corps Northeast in Poland," says the same source.

Poland will also participate with a detachment to the 26th Infantry Battalion "Neagoe Basarab," part of the Multinational Brigade Southeast, while the Romanian Army will be present in Poland with a anti-aircraft defence detachment, as part of the two countries' commitments with NATO.

Approximately 145 Polish militaries participated in the Scorpions Fury 18 exercise. This exercise is the most important activity conducted by the Multinational Brigade Southeast (MNBDE-SE) as part of the operational assessment for declaring the final capability of the brigade command, according to the abovementioned source.
