Romania reports 125 new weekly cases of COVID-19, up 108.32pct

The National Public Health Institute (INSP) has reported that between May 26 and June 1, 125 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were recorded in Romania, up 108.3% from the previous week.

According to INSP, 43 of the new cases were in reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection, agerpres reports.

Between May 26 and June 1, no death was reported.

So far, 69,259 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.

As of this week, 3,583,996 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were recorded in the country.

Last week, 196 RT-PCR tests and 3,180 rapid antigen tests were performed. The positivity rate was 3.7%.

So far, 14,050,480 RT-PCR tests and 15,358,778 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide.
