A number of 4,460 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were reported in Romania between 15-21 September, down 8% from the previous week, the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informed on Tuesday.
A number of 1,056 of the new cases in the past week were in reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection/another reinfection.
According to the quoted source, 15 deaths were reported in persons with COVID-19, all of them presenting comorbidities.
In this period, 459 RT-PCR tests and 14,750 rapid antigen tests were performed.
The positivity rate was 29.3%, decreasing by 4.3% from the previous week.
