Romania is ranked 4th in the European Union in terms of increases in July 2016 production in construction compared with the similar period of the year before, according to data with the Eurostat statistical office of the European Union released on Monday.
In July 2016 compared with July 2015, production in construction grew by 3.1 percent in the euro area and by 1.0 percent in the EU28.
Among member states for which data are available, the highest increases in production in construction were recorded in Spain (+12.0 percent), Sweden (+10.0 percent), France (+3.3 percent) and Romania (+2.9 percent), while the largest decreases were reported in Slovakia (-23.3 percent), Hungary (-17.6 percent) and Poland (-15.1 percent).
In July 2016 compared with June 2016, seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector increased by 1.8 percent in the euro area and by 1.1 percent in the EU28.
Among member states for which data are available, the highest increases in production in construction were recorded in France (+4.8 percent), Slovenia (+2.0 percent), Spain (+1.9 percent) and Germany (+1.8 percent), and the largest decreases in Slovakia (-11.0 percent), Hungary (-3.2 percent) and Bulgaria (-1. percent). In Romania, the rise was 0.7 percent in July 2016 after a 1.3-percent decline in June.
