Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin and Romanian ambassador in Chisinau Cristian-Leon Turcanu reaffirmed on Monday, during a meeting in Chisinau, the two states' strong commitment to advancing joint projects in the field of security, cross-border cooperation and rapprochement with the European Union, MOLDPRES reports.
Daniella Misail-Nichitin highlighted the constant support offered to the Republic of Moldova by Romania, "support that materializes in new equipment for the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, joint security projects, cross-border initiatives and the expansion of coordinated control at several border crossing points", agerpres informs.
She mentioned the Ministry's openness to advance in police cooperation, Interreg programs, information exchange and improving integrated border management.
In his turn, ambassador Cristian-Leon Turcanu highlighted Romania's key role in supporting the European course of the Republic of Moldova.
The diplomat mentioned that they discussed the continuation of multiple joint projects dedicated to both speeding up the European path of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the process of reform and institutional consolidation in the field of internal affairs, public order and national security.
