Romanian tennis player Ana Bogdan on Tuesday advanced to the women's singles R16 of the 115,000-USD 2017 Mumbai Open WTA tournament in India, after defeating Mexico's Victoria Rodriguez 6-1 6-1.
Twenty-four-year old qualifying Bogdan, world number 111, is seeded second, having prevailed in just 54 minutes.
The Romanian player defeated Rodriguez in 2016, 6-2 6-3, in the R16 of the Grado ITF tournament in Italy.
Bogdan has won 2,000 US dollars and 21 WTA singles points.
In the R16, Bogdan plays Alize Lim, 27, world number 308, in their first one-to-one meet. AGERPRES .
