Fourth-seeded Copil, 27, world number 91, prevailed in just 66 minutes over a 19-year-old opponent, world number 630.
Copil has won 3,090 euros and 30 ATP singles points, and his next opponent will be either Polish Kamil Majchrzak, 21, world number 223, or Slovakian Andrej Martin, 28, world number 163.
