Spain reiterates its support for the "prompt" and "full" integration of Romania into the Schengen area, reads the joint statement of Prime Ministers Nicolae Ciuca and Pedro Sanchez issued on Wednesday, as the Romanian and the Spanish governments hold their first joint meeting in Castellón de la Plana, told Agerpres.
"Both countries want to reach an agreement within the European Pact on Migration and Asylum that should reflect the principle of fair sharing of responsibilities and solidarity. Spain reiterates its support for Romania's prompt and full Schengen integration and, just like Romania, reaffirms its commitment to supporting the development of a safe open-border area, allowing the uninterrupted free movement of people," the document signed by the two Prime Ministers states.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca was welcomed with military honors on Wednesday, in Castellón de la Plana, by the President of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sanchez.
