Romania will be represented by 12 teams at the 2025 European Rowing Championships to be held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from May 29 to June 1, according to a press release from the Romanian Rowing Federation sent to AGERPRES.
Ciprian Tudosa, a rower of the four-oared rowing team, said that the changes in the Romanian crews will bring added motivation.
"We are leaving for a new edition of the European Championships. We are very prepared for this competition. You will see some changes in some teams from previous years. We are going to the European Championships with the utmost confidence and the changes in the last period give us that extra motivation that maybe we needed in certain situations," he added.
Medallist in rowing Simona Radis and Ancuta Bodnar, who have so far teamed up in the women's double sculls event becoming Olympic, world and European champions, will no longer compete together at the European Championships in Plovdiv.
They voiced their confidence on Monday, emphasizing their motivation to reconfirm their worth at the Plovdiv competition.
At the last European Championships, held last year in Szeged (Hungary), Romania came second in the final ranking by nation, after the United Kingdom, with eight medals, including four gold, two silver and two bronze.
