Romania will reach the milestone of 25,000 registered electric cars by the end of the year, with Dacia Spring still topping preferences, according to a study conducted by Lektri.co, sent on Monday to AGERPRES.
According to the Lektri.co index, between January and September 2022, 8,375 new electric vehicles were registered, bringing the total units in Romania to 21,258, told Agerpres.
At the same time, the last month of Q3 recorded the highest number of electric cars this year.
With an increase of over 250pct compared to the same month last year, there were 1,373 such cars recorded in September 2022.
Dacia Spring continues to be on top of Romanians' preferences, with 642 units registered in September alone. In total, in the current year, 4,168 Dacia Spring units were registered, an increase of almost 50pct compared to 2021, being followed by the Tesla Model 3, with 651 registrations in 2022.
In the general top, Dacia Spring stands out with 7,234 units, Renault ZOE coming in second with 2,084, followed by VW E-UP, with 1,175 units.
The high-end segment (which includes Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche models) saw 82 new registrations in the first nine months of this year.
Regarding the charging infrastructure, if we consider only public chargers, without restrictions, the most used are AC Type 2 and CCS/CHAdeMO fast-chargers.
According to the Plugshare portal, there are 2,896 public chargers in Romania, and the number of public charging places has reached 1,313.
