On March 8, 2024, Romania was the absolute leader in flower orders, surpassing all other countries where Glovo operates. According to the report, March 8 flower orders in Romania accounted for over 10% of year-round flower sales on Glovo, and platform users also choose to surprise their loved ones with Asian dishes and desserts.
Tulips reign supreme during this season and are by far the most popular flowers ordered by Romanians, both by the stem, in small and large bouquets or in colorful mixes. Alongside these, roses and freesias are also at the top of flower preferences.
In 2024, most flower orders were registered between 9:00 and 10:00, showing the customers' desire to surprise their loved ones from the first hours of the day, the analysis say. 40% of all flower orders were placed in the morning, with a significant peak around 10:00, and the largest flower order was placed in Bucharest, worth an impressive RON 1,600.
When it comes to food orders on Women's Day, the 2024 report shows a significant increase in Asian cuisine, with sushi orders almost double compared to a regular day, and most Asian food orders delivered in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Brasov.
In terms of sweets, pancakes and waffles are among the most ordered dishes on March 8.
