Romanian Army personnel participate on Saturday and Sunday in the Bucharest Gaming Week 2024 event which will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Palace of Parliament, the National Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The stand of the Romanian Army features areas dedicated to the various categories of forces and military education institutions, where the public can interact with military personnel, pilots and marines, and also inquire about the relevant educational offer, and the Romanian Army's recruitment and selection process.
The visitors can test two virtual reality simulators for the YAK-52 warbird, which are used by the students of the Air Force Academy in all the training phases, beginning with the engine start-up and the check of parameters, up to simple or complex missions, as well as for simulating special situations that may occur during the flight.
"There will also be presentations of augmented reality goggles that allow the observation of the user's environment and the possibility of three-dimensional modeling. Also, pilots from the 'Comandor Aviator Gheorghe Banciulescu' 90th Air Transport Base will present the MIDASH helmet which allows the crew to develop their ability to maintain a low-altitude flight, both during day and night time, while using several of the helicopter's systems, without having to maintain their gaze inside the cockpit,'' the release states.
Trainees and military students from the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy and from the "Amiral Ion Murgescu" Military Headmasters School will present the educational offers of these two Navy educational institutions, and will show the public various sailor games. Military personnel from the 39th Divers Center will also introduce the visitors to specific tricks of the trade
The program includes interactive recreational and educational workshops with presentations of survival kits, parachute kits, and the types of fires and shelters used by military scouts, while military engineers and students from the Military Technical Academy will show off robots, drones, software applications, and introduce the visitors to virtual reality, the National Defense Ministry informs.
