mportant Romanian athletes are auctioning valuable objects that are also telling a story for the construction of the Hospice hospital for pediatric palliative care.

According to a press release of Hospice Casa Sperantei sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, Gianina Van Groningen, Ana Maria Branza, Robert Glinta are the first athletes who agreed to part with objects of sentimental value, with a history behind them, for a noble purpose.

Thus, Gianina van Groningen is auctioning off two precious symbols of her rowing journey - the first medal won at the National Championship on 2km, the one that launched her into the world of champions, and the outfit she wear at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, where she got the silver medal. Ana Maria Branza brings the Team Romania t-shirt she wear on her last climb on the Olympic podium, at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, in 2021, as well as the book "En Garde - The girl with the tricolor mask," and Robert Glinta, European champion and the first Romanian swimmer who got into a final at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021, is parting with the swimming helmet personalized with his name and signed by him.

Also, Doru Todorut, Hospice ambassador and long-time runner in #TeamHOSPICE, is bidding on the t-shirt in which he ran in the 2024 Half Marathon, and Cristian Simonca is bidding on the official t-shirt of the Romanian delegation at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, signed by the gold and silver medalist champions Gianina van Groningen, Maria-Magdalena Rusu and Florin Enache.

In Romania, statistics show that over 22,000 children with incurable and life-limiting diseases need palliation.
