Romanian coaching market approaching 50 million euros (estimates)

The coaching market in Romania is approaching the threshold of 50 million euros, after annual increases of approximately 20%, according to the estimates of specialists in the field, told Agerpres.

"I have recently noticed a strong increase in requests for coaching. I have been in the field for over 16 years and I have never felt such openness. Until recently, most of the client portfolio was represented by top managers. Although we also have here a significant advance, nowadays, more and more companies finance coaching services for middle management and senior specialists. In addition, we see an increase in requests from entrepreneurs and even some freelancers (...) It is very important for our profession that everyone offers the best services and promotes competence, and this can only be achieved through a training process that respects all international standards. The development of coaching is important for the whole society, a good coach having a huge impact in the evolution of clients, as well as in the growth of some businesses," said Nina Paraschivescu, founder of the Coaching School.

According to the quoted source, the increase is all the more important since other related sectors, such as the training and consulting markets, have registered a significant setback.

"However, the coaching market in Romania is far from the level of developed countries, which shows that there is great potential for growth. In addition, the pandemic and the war in Ukraine put pressure on managers and entrepreneurs, who, in this context, called more and more coaching services. The profession of coach involves special skills. Although most things are learned in courses and practical classes, more skills are needed, especially in the area of communication, and, in addition, a relevant professional experience," the press release mentions.

At the Coaching School courses, which last six months, not all applicants are accepted, an initial evaluation showing who is suitable for such a profession.

Once taken, the courses, which include a theoretical part and practical training, are completed with an exam. If this is passed, the Coach diploma is obtained, recognized by the Ministry of Education, through the National Authority for Qualifications, and the new profession can be practiced immediately.

A PwC study, carried out at the request of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), shows that the global coaching market would reach, this year, about 20 billion dollars, of which 40% can be found only in the United States of America.

In Eastern Europe, things are different, so the average annual income of a coach reaches almost 20,000 US dollars.

In Romania, the price for a coaching session starts from 40 euros, the fee requested by those who are just starting out, and can reach over 1,000 euros.

Coaching is a modern approach to developing personal and business performance.
