Romanian companies need concrete support to become more competitive on the European market, president of Romania's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) Mihai Daraban declared on Wednesday at the meeting in Brussels of the CCIR delegation with Vice-President of the European Parliament Victor Negrescu.

"CCIR demonstrates its commitment to building solid bridges between the Romanian business environment and the European institutions. Direct dialogue with Romanian MEPs is essential for the voices of our entrepreneurs to be heard where the decisions that affect our economy are made. Romanian companies need concrete support to become more competitive on the European market, and these meetings are an important step in this direction," the CCIR head said, as cited in a release.

The meeting is part of the agenda of the Romanian delegation's participation in the 7th edition of the European Parliament of Enterprises - EPE 2025, an event organized by Eurochambers in partnership with the European chambers of commerce and the European Parliament.

The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the dialogue between CCIR, the Romanian business environment and the European institutions.

The main topics discussed were green transition and circular economy, labor shortage and vocational training, support for exports and European competitiveness, stimulating industrial innovation, as well as climate change adjustment measures.

The CCIR delegation was made up of representatives of leading Romanian companies.
