Attacks on commercial ships are unacceptable, and Romania and Türkiye will cooperate more for a stable and connected region, Romania's Foreign Affairs Minister Dan Neculaescu said on Saturday, in the context of a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

"Good first conversation today with my Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan. We have a full bilateral agenda ahead and a shared priority: a safer Black Sea. Attacks on commercial ships are unacceptable. As Black Sea Allies, we have to act together," Neculaescu wrote on Saturday on X platform.

He pointed out that the two states will work more closely within NATO and step up trilateral talks with Bulgaria.

"What happens in the Black Sea affects countries around the world. Romania and Türkiye will cooperate more for a stable and connected region," the Romanian chief diplomat added.
