The Romanian Cultural Institute in Warsaw and the National Book Centre are organising the Romanian stand at the International Book Fair in Krakow, the largest Polish literary event of the autumn season.

Over 60 titles available on the Polish book market - translations of Romanian literature and books of Romanian interest written by Polish authors (essays, history, travel writing, tourist guides, etc.) - will be offered for sale to the Polish public, the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) announced in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.

A special place on the shelves of the Romanian stand will be occupied by this year's literary novelties: Bucuresti, marea speranta by Cristian Teodorescu (translated by Radoslawa Janowska-Lascar, Amaltea Publishing House); Teo de la 16 la 18 by Raluca Nagy (translated by Olga Bartosiewicz-Nikolaev, Pauza Publishing House); Abraxas by Bogdan-Alexandru Stanescu (translated by Kazimierz Jurczak, Noir sur Blanc Publishing House); Max Blecher's Operele complete (Complete works) (translated by Joanna Kornas-Warwas, Panstwowy Instytut Wydawniczy); Woldemar by Oleg Serebrian (translated by Radoslawa Janowska-Lascar, Amaltea Publishing House).

Also to be presented are the volumes Maini cuminti / Tot ce e rau si tot ce e frumos in lume by Ana and Eduard Dragu (translated by Dominik Malecki, Ksiazkowe Klimaty Publishing House); Vremea minunilor by Catalin Dorian Florescu (translated from German by Maria Przybylowska, Pogranicze Publishing House); as well as the most recent reissue of Nostalgia by Mircea Cartarescu (translated by Joanna Kornas-Warwas and Ireneusz Kania, ArtRage Publishing House).

The offering will be completed by a series of promotional materials - brochures with information about the latest translations from Romanian literature and volumes about Romania, bookmarks, postcards showcasing the architecture of the Romanian seaside, as well as tourist brochures.

The International Book Fair in Krakow is, alongside the one in Warsaw, one of the most important annual events in the Polish publishing world. Over four days, between 23-26 October, Expo Krakow will host over 500 exhibitors, 900 authors and 1,250 meetings with both Polish and international writers, ICR further mentions.
