Romanian Police to purchase 400 devices for detecting narcotic substances in saliva
The Romanian Police Inspectorate General (IGPR) is in the process of purchasing 400 devices for detecting the presence of narcotic substances in saliva, with the deadline for submission of bids set for August 31, Romanian Police Spokesman Georgian Dragan told a press conference on Thursday, told Agerpres.
According to him, on August 22, 4,705 positions were filled at the Traffic Police, including 714 police officers and 3,991 police agents, resulting in a total deficit of 11.7%, which means a 17% deficit for officers and 10% for agents.
"Also, within the Romanian Police, approximately 17,000 police officers have been designated to hold the position of traffic policeman, who also carry out activities whose results contribute to road safety," the spokesperson said.
