Romanian pupils win four medals at Central European Informatics Olympiad

Romanian pupils won three silver and one bronze medals at the XXXI edition of the Central European Informatics Olympiad (CEOI) held in Brno, Czech Republic, from June 23-29, the minister of Education, Ligia Deca, announced on Friday.

Thus, the pupil Stefan-Catalin Savu from the Ion Luca Caragiale National College Ploiesti won a silver medal, Mihai-Valeriu Voicu from the Bucharest International Theoretical High School of Informatics - a silver medal, Andrei Paul Iorgulescu from the Tudor Vianu National Informatics College Bucharest - silver medal.

Rares-Felix Tudose from the Bucharest International Theoretical High School of Informatics won a bronze medal.

The Romanian team was coordinated by the representatives of the Society for Excellence and Performance in Informatics (SEPI), which ensured the selection and preparation of the representative teams: Chesca Ciprian-Daniel, team leader, Grigore C. Moisil Technological High School Buzau, Popescu Ioan, deputy leader, Bucharest National Polytechnic University of Science and Technology.

The competition was initiated by Romania in 1994, becoming over time one of the most prestigious relevant competitions. This year the representative teams of 13 countries participated in the Olympiad.
