The Romanian team won two gold medals, one silver and two bronze medals at the European Geography Olympiad held in Vilnius, Lithuania, the Ministry of Education and Research announced on Friday.
The junior team was composed of the following students: Alessio Andrei Nenu, from "Prof. Nicolae Simache" Secondary School in Ploiesti, who won a gold medal and achieved first place overall; Stefan Negescu-Lucov, from Secondary School No. 179, Bucharest, who was awarded a gold medal; Ana-Maria Apatean, from "Sfantul Sava" National College, Bucharest, who won a bronze medal; Tudor Toma, from the International Informatics High School, Bucharest, agerpres reports.
The senior team consisted of: Ionut Merauta, from "Unirea" National College, Focsani, who received a silver medal; Sebastian Butu, from "Iancu de Hunedoara" National College, Hunedoara, awarded a bronze medal; Iustin Tode, from "Costache Negruzzi" National College, Iasi; Andrei Cristian Bunea, from "Gheorghe Munteanu-Murgoci" National College, Braila.
The team coordinators were Mihaela Florina Alexandru from the Ministry of Education and Research and Mihaela Cornelia Fiscutean from the Iasi National College.
