Romanian tennis player Miriam Bulgaru qualified on Tuesday for the round of 16 of the ITF tournament in Szekesfehervar (Hungary), with total prizes of 60,000 dollars, after defeating Croatian Jana Fett, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Bulgaru (26 years old, no. 211 in the WTA) won after two hours and 12 minutes against the number three favorite (28 years old, no. 133 in the WTA).

Fett committed no less than 10 double faults in this match.

There is also a Romanian on the singles draw, Irina Bara, who will face Hungarian Amarissa Kiara Toth in the first round.

In doubles, Irina Bara and Ekaterine Gorgodze (Georgia) qualified for the quarterfinals after 6-4, 6-4 versus Romanian-Burundian pair Andreea Prisacariu/Sada Nahimana.AGERPRES
