Romanians will have 15 legal days off next year, according to the Labour Law, but only seven will be during the week compared to 11 in 2020, according to AGERPRES.
Legal holidays in 2021 are as follows:
* 1 and 2 January - Friday and Saturday;
* January 24 (Day of the Union of Romanian Principalities) - Sunday;
* April 30 (Good Friday);
* May 1 (Labour Day) - Saturday;
* 2 - 3 May (first and second day of Holy Easter) - Sunday and Monday;
* June 1 (Children's Day) - Tuesday;
* 20 and 21 June (first and second day of Pentecost) - Sunday and Monday;
* August 15 (Feast of the Assumption) - Sunday;
* November 30 (St. Andrew's Day) - Tuesday;
* December 1st (National Day of Romania) - Wednesday;
* December 25th and 26th (first and second day of Christmas) - Saturday and Sunday.
According to the Labour Law, persons who belong to legal religious denominations other than the Christian ones benefit from two days for each of the three annual religious holidays.
Until 15 January of each year, the Government shall determine by decision, for staff in the budgetary system, working days for which days off are granted, days preceding and/ or succeeding the legal holidays on which they are not worked, as well as the days on which hours of work not performed are recovered, the Labour Law states.
