Romania's high jumper Federica Gabriela Apostol and triple jumper Alexia Ioana Dospin on Thursday advanced to their respective finals at the European Athletics U-23 Championships in Bergen, Norway, agerpres reports.
Apostol qualified first in the women's high jump with a 1.81-metre jump.
Dospin reached the women's triple jump final the sixth with a 13.47-metre jump.
Ioana-Rebecca Andrei finished 18th in the women's 400 m heat (54.34).
Cosmina Denisa Balaban was only 31st in the women's100m hurdles heat (13.81).
Claudia Ionela Costiuc finished 26th in the women's 800 m heat (2:12.07).
In the men's 10,000 m race, Romania's Dragos Luca Pop finished 22nd (30:28.88).
Andrei Vlad Enache did not start in the qualifications of the men's long jump event.
Romania has lined up 22 athletes, 10 men and 12 women, for the 15th edition of the European Athletics U-23 Championships, in Bergen, Norway, July 17- 20.
The objective set by the Romanian Athletics Federation is to win a medal and three 4th-8th place rankings
