Romania’s construction sector expected to grow by 5% in 2025 after 2024 decline

Construction production in Romania is expected to increase by 5% in 2025, after a decrease by 3.5% estimated for 2024, according to the 2024-2028 Forecasts, autumn version, of the National Board on Business Strategy and Forecasts.

New construction works would increase by 5.8%, capital repairs by 1.9% and current maintenance and repair works by 4.3%.

Building production is expected to decrease, according to the forecast, by 1.7% (residential construction plus 3.7%; non-residential construction minus 5.2%), and civil engineering works would increase by 9.8%.

In 2026, production in construction is expected to advance by 6.7%; in 2027 by 5.1%, and in 2028 by 4%. AGERPRES
