The forth-seeded duo on after almost two hours of play (1 h 53 min).
Cornea and his partner created no less than 9 break points, but they only made use of one, while their opponents scored 3 out of 5.
He equalled his performance at the previous edition of the Australian Open.
Cornea and Navone ended up with AUD 58,000 and 90 ATP doubles points.
