Romania's Cornea fails to advance to men's doubles 2nd round at Australian Open

The Romanian-Argentine duo Victor Cornea/Mariano Navone on Friday lost to Germans Kevin Krawietz/Tim Puetz, 4-6 6-1 6-4, in the second round of the men's doubles event of the Australian Open tennis tournament.

The forth-seeded duo on after almost two hours of play (1 h 53 min).

Cornea and his partner created no less than 9 break points, but they only made use of one, while their opponents scored 3 out of 5.

He equalled his performance at the previous edition of the Australian Open.

Cornea and Navone ended up with AUD 58,000 and 90 ATP doubles points.
