Romania's female weightlifters win seven medals the European Youth and U-15 Championships

Romanian wightlifters won no less than seven medals on Friday at the European Youth and U15 Weightlifting Championships in Madrid, Spain, three gold, three silver and one bronze.

Maia Delia Andrei of CS Botosani, a member of the National Olympic Center for Junior Training, won three gold medals in the women's U15 48 kg category, with a 67 kg lift in the snatch, 85 kg in the clean and jerk and 152 kg in total, agerpres reports.

In the women's U-17 53kg category, Alexia Diana of CSM Onesti won three silver medals, with a 79 kg lift in the snatch, 98 kg in the clean and jerk and 177 kg in total.

In the same category, Adelina Maria Lorint of CSM Bistrita won a bronze medal in total, with 158 kg. In the snatch, she took fourth place, with a 70 kg lift, and in the clean and jerk she was also fourth, with an 88 kg lift.

Romania's medal tally so far is 11 medals, of which five gold, three silver, three bronze. The other medals were won by Lucian Florin Cambei in the men's U17 56 kg category: gold in the snatch and all, bronze in the clean and jerk, and a bronze won by Florin Ispilante, in the men's U-15 56kg category, clean and jerk.
