Romania's forex reserves dip to EUR 62.841 bln at the end of October

As of end-October 2024, the forex reserves of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) stood at 62.841 billion euros, 4.46 percent down from 65.778 billion euros as of the end of September 2024, the central bank announced in a release on Friday.

Inflows recorded in October 2024 amounted to 2.801 billion euros, representing changes in the foreign exchange reserve requirements of the credit institutions, inflows into the accounts of the Ministry of Public Finance, other.

Cutflows stood at 5.738 billion euros, representing changes in the foreign exchange reserve requirements of the credit institutions, interest and principal payments on the foreign currency public debt (some 1.850 billion euros), payments from the European Commission's account, other.

Romania's gold holdings remained unchanged at 103.6 tonnes worth 7.136 billion euros, as per the current international prices.

Romania's international reserves (foreign currencies and gold) as of October 31, 2024 stood at 71.361 billion euros, compared to 73.663 billion euros as of end-September 2024.

Payments due this November on the public and publicly guaranteed foreign currency-denominated debt amount to roughly 649 million euros.
