Romania's gas imports fall by almost 20 pct in first nine months

In the first nine months of the year, Romania imported an amount of gas by a 19.2% lower than in the same period last year, according to data published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Domestic gas production was also down by 4.3%.

Of the total gas resources, of 6.8 million tons of oil equivalent (toe), domestic production was 5.1 million toe, and imports, 1.6 million toe, representing 23.5% of the total, told Agerpres.
