Romanian tennis player Filip Cristian Jianu on Monday progressed to the men's singles round of 16 at the Kigali Challenger tournament in Rwanda, prize money USD 107,000 after defeating Slovakian Andrej Martin 6-2 6-2.
It took Jianu, 24, ranked 252nd only 70 minutes to get past Martin, 36, ranked 453rd, agerpres reports.
Martin, a former world number 93, had defeated Jianu in their first meeting last year, in the first round in Como, 6-4 6-3.
Jianu won USD 1,740 and 6 ATP singles points, and in the round of 16 he will play the winner between the France's Arthur Gea, second seed, and a qualifier.
Compatriot Nicholas David Ionel, 23, ranked 615th, advanced to the singles main draw after defeating Finnish Eero Vasa, 29, ranked 482nd, 6-4 6-2, in exactly one hour of play. Ionel defeated Indian Nitin Kumar Sinha, 27, ranked 875th, 6-1 6-2 in the first preliminary round.
The Romanian won USD 1,045 and 4 ATP singles points.
Jianu also plays doubles, alongside Austrian Sandro Lopp, while Victor Cornea and Spaniard Bruno Pujol Navarro are the second seed.
