Romfilatelia is issuing a special stamp dedicated to the 200th anniversary since the birth of Louis Pasteur, told Agerpres.
The company informs in a press release to AGERPRES that the anniversary issue is meant to promote one of the greatest personalities of the universal culture and science.
A chemist and bacteriologist, Pasteur is the founder of modern microbiology, as well as of the method stoping fermentation which was named after him: pasteurization. He also discovered the vaccine against rabies and received numerous awards in recognition of his special merits.
