Some of the most appreciated productions of the London stage will be available to watch at the Auditorium Hall of the National Museum of Art of Romania, between September 3 and 19, during the screening of Royal Ballet & Opera performances in London, an event held under the aegis of the George Enescu International Festival.
According to a statement from the organizers sent to AGERPRES on Monday, the public will have the opportunity to watch shows such as "The Marriage of Figaro", "Turandot", "Swan Lake", "The Nutcracker", but also modern ballet creations or impressive visual shows, such as "Alice in Wonderland" and "Ballet on Broadway: Wheeldon's Operas".
"Through the program of films with a musical theme, from the Royal Ballet & Opera in London, the National Museum of Art of Romania becomes a protagonist of the musical and also cinematic sphere, a platform on which lovers of the visual, sound and dance can come together, in a unique, historical, generous and sumptuous space - the Royal Palace, a true milestone of the quality of cultural life in Romania", said Ervin Kesler, acting general director of the National Museum of Art of Romania, quoted in the press release.
The series of performances opens with the screening of "Royal Opera: The Marriage of Figaro", on September 3, at 5:00 PM.
The schedule of the next screenings is: September 4 - "Royal Ballet: Alice in Wonderland", September 5 - "Royal Opera: Turandot", September 10 - "Royal Opera: The Tales of Hoffman", September 11 - "Royal Ballet: Cinderella", September 12 - "Royal Ballet: Romeo and Juliet", September 17 - "Royal Ballet: Ballet on Broadway", September 18 - "Royal Ballet: The Nutcracker", September 19 - "Royal Ballet: Swan Lake".
Screenings at the MNAR Auditorium will take place from 5:00 PM, with the exception of the screening of "The Royal Ballet: The Nutcracker" on September 18, which is scheduled from 7:00 PM.
Tickets, priced at 60 lei, can be purchased online at happycinema.ro and festivalenescu.ro.
With a capacity of over 440 seats, the Auditorium Hall is located in the Stirbe building of the National Museum of Art of Romania and is equipped with high-performance technical equipment, which allows the organization of concerts and film screenings, right in the heart of Bucharest, the organizers specify.
The George Enescu International Festival, now in its 27th edition, takes place between August 24 and September 21 and includes a series of concerts at the Palace Hall, the Athenaeum Concerts, the Midnight Concerts, the Radio Hall Concerts, and the Auditorium Hall Concerts of the National Museum of Art of Romania.
The George Enescu International Festival is an event held under the High Patronage of the President of Romania.
The screening of Royal Ballet & Opera performances from London at MNAR is organized in partnership with Happy Cinema under the aegis of the George Enescu International Festival.
