The government will approve the second edition of the 'Start-up Nation' program intended to provide support for 10,000 new projects, with a maximum of 200,000 lei (rd 42,000 euro, ed. note) for each beneficiary, Premier Viorica Dancila announced on Friday.
"The 'Start-up Nation' entrepreneurship support program launched by the PSD-ALDE government proved to be a success. Over 8,000 new businesses were set up and more than 20,000 jobs were created at its first edition in 2017. These results encourage us to continue this program, yet in a simplified form that better meets the expectations of young people who plan to start a business. Through the second edition of this program, which we'll be adopting at today's government meeting, we intend to provide support for 10,000 projects, with a maximum grant of 200,000 lei for each beneficiary. We will pay more attention to business development in those areas of the country with a lower number of small and medium enterprises, and we also envisage stronger support for entrepreneurs, by slashing certain administrative procedures and granting funding in advance," the Premier said in the opening of the Executive's meeting.
