The Department for Romanians Abroad (DRP) announces the opening of the selection process of partners through which scholarships will be awarded to ethnic Romanian pupils residing in Ukraine, as part of the program "Supporting Romanian Language Education in Ukraine".
The scholarships, worth 2,000 lei/pupil, will be awarded to children enrolled in grades 1 and 2 in the 2024 - 2025 school year in schools in Ukraine with teaching in Romanian as a mother tongue, or with teaching some subjects in Romanian.
"The selection of partners is the first stage of the program, and all associations, foundations or non-governmental organizations belonging to ethnic Romanians in Ukraine and whose object of activity is the preservation and promotion of linguistic and cultural identity are eligible to participate. The associations must be based in regions of Ukraine where Romanian communities live, be legally and fiscally registered in Ukraine and demonstrate that they have the capacity to carry out the selection process of beneficiaries in good conditions," a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday states.
The associations will initially send the application documents by e-mail to [email protected] by November 18, and after approval, the originals and copies marked "true to the original" will be sent.
The selection will be made by a commission organized at the DRP level, and the amount granted to the selected partners for preparing the beneficiaries' files is 10 lei/file approved by the commission.
The selected associations will identify the pupils, collect and verify the documents for preparing the files, enter the information in the application provided by the financing authority, and inform potential beneficiaries.
