The Senate plenum approved today by a vote of 98 to 24 and one abstention the request of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) to start the criminal prosecution of former Health Minister Florian Bodog.

Anti-corruption prosecutors sought the Senate's approval for starting probing Florian Bodog on accusations of having arranged, during his term as minister, for a personal advisor to collect a salary for 12 months without actually coming to work and without having performed the activities she was bound to under contract.

In 2019 the senators rejected a similar request regarding Florian Bodog, but the prosecutors announced having obtained evidence on the former minister committing another four offenses of forgery and abuse of office in this case.
