Senate president Abrudean to pay oficial visit to the Republica of Moldova on Tuesday

The acting president of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, is set to pay an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on Tuesday, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries in key sectors and the European path of Chisinau.

"The acting president of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, will have a meeting with the president of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu. At the end of the meeting, the two presidents will hold a joint press conference. Subsequently, the high Romanian dignitary will have a meeting with the president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu. At the Government, the Romanian official has planned meetings with prime minister Dorin Recean and deputy prime minister for European integration, Cristina Gherasimov. The items on the agenda refer to the cooperation between the two countries in key sectors and means to enhance it, as well as the reform agenda and the European path of the Republic of Moldova," a Senate press release informs.

According to an internal memorandum approved on Monday by the Permanent Bureau of the Senate, the culture committee of this forum will also pay a visit to the Republic of Moldova, led by its president, Cristian Niculescu-Tagarlas, between March 26 and 29.

"The visit of the culture and media Committee is an attempt to continue and strengthen bilateral relations between the two legislative bodies," the document states.
