Senate's speaker tells Kuwaiti ambassador Romania wants to return to Kuwaiti market

The Senate's Speaker Calin Popescu-Tariceanu emphasized on Thursday, in the meeting with Kuwait's Ambassador Talal Mansour Alhajeri, the interest of the Romanian side to resume its economic presence on the Kuwaiti market and the importance of identifying new flexible co-operation mechanisms between the business communities of the two states. 

"The good cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and within the international organizations to which Romania and Kuwait are members, was evoked. The talks highlighted the agreement of both sides on the need to amplify the bilateral political dialogue and on the importance of capitalizing on the means of parliamentary diplomacy especially by boosting the activity of the parliamentary friendship groups," reads a Senate's release sent on Thursday to AGERPRES

The Senate's speaker expressed his confidence that the visits to Kuwait by members of the Executive will contribute to strengthening bilateral trade and will encourage business relations between the two countries. 

The two interlocutors reviewed the situation in the Persian Gulf region, considering that in order to overcome the current crisis it is important to adopt the path of negotiations and political dialogue. 

The Kuwaiti ambassador appreciated Romania's position on the developments in the Middle East, based on its traditional relations with the countries in the region and on the deep understanding of the phenomena in the region, the quoted source mentions.
