The Senate is set to elect its new President on Tuesday, following Ilie Bolojan's investiture as Prime Minister, a role which he assumed on Monday.

The National Liberal Party (PNL) has proposed Mircea Abrudean to take over as President of this legislative chamber.

The vote will be secret and conducted using ballot papers.

Another item on Tuesday's plenary agenda will be the appointment of a judge to the Constitutional Court, pending the submission of the relevant report, in accordance with the schedule published on the Senate's website.

The Legal Committee will hear the candidates for the position of Constitutional Court judge on Tuesday, prior to the plenary session.

In addition, the Standing Bureau, which will convene at 9:45 a.m., will place on the agenda for the 12:00 p.m. plenary session the draft bill empowering the Government to issue ordinances during the parliamentary recess.
