The acting President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, will pay an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on Tuesday, with the agenda of the discussions including the intensification of cooperation between the two countries in key-sectors and the European path of Moldova.
"The acting President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, will have a meeting with the President of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu. At the end of the meeting, the two presidents will hold a joint press statement. Subsequently, the high-ranking Romanian dignitary will have a meeting with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu. At the Government, the official has planned meetings with Prime Minister Dorin Recean and with the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov. During the official visit, the intensification of cooperation between the two countries in key sectors, as well as the reform agenda and the European path of the Republic of Moldova, will be discussed," a press release from the Senate informs.
According to an internal memorandum approved on Monday by the Permanent Bureau, the Senate Culture Committee, led by the committee's chairman, Cristian Niculescu-Tagarlas, will also pay an official visit to Chisinau between March 26 and 29.
"The visit of the Culture and Media Committee is an attempt to continue and strengthen bilateral relations between the two legislative bodies," the document states.
