Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu stated on Wednesday that a separate salary law for the judicial system is a correct thing, but a lot of attention is needed for drawing it up.
"I think it's a right thing, but this time we have to be very careful when building this law. If it remains as a package, then we will be vulnerable again. We must also learn from the mistakes of the past. We will be vulnerable again and you have seen how certain rights were transferred from certain categories to other categories, not only to other magistrates. And, then, it's not exactly a wrong approach", explained Ciolacu in a statement given to the press, agerpres reports.
"We have disputes. Of all the labor disputes, you saw the disputes with magistrates are below 4%, but we have a significant number of disputes, certain amounts of money, which must be paid to the magistrates, as a result of some judicial decisions. (...) One of the ideas that came up, I'm not saying it's the best, but it's on the working scenario sheet, was that of a possible separate law for the Justice chapter so that one can no longer refer to the articles and provisions of the legislation, to other chapters that could generate a litigious phenomenon later. This was the logic in which the technical working group reached this conclusion," declared Gorghiu.
The minister of justice pleaded for "an in-depth analysis" and to decide, together with the prime minister, the solutions.
