Border policemen of Satu Mare detected six Iraqi citizens, aged between 19 and 41, asylum seekers in Romania, who tried to illegally cross the border with Hungary, General Inspectorate of Border Police informed on Wednesday.
According to the quoted source, the migrants were discovered on a street of Satu Mare city, after they subsequently got into a taxi. When arriving to the adjacent area of the Petea border crossing point, they got off the cars and the border policemen with the Territorial Service of Satu Mare Border Police (STPF), in cooperation with those of Petea Border Police Sector (SPF) and proceeded to their identification, afterwards they were taken to the STPF Satu Mare headquarters for verifications.
The Iraqi citizens are investigated for committing the offense of illegally attempt to cross the state border, with the legal measures to be taken after the investigation completes.
