The aircraft, initially believed to be a glider, that crashed in the yard of a factory in Arad is a small plane carrying two men, both of whom suffered fatal injuries, according to representatives of the Arad County Ambulance Service (SAJ) who were first on the scene.
The engine was found at a distance from the disintegrated body of the aircraft.
According to the source, the two men, both approximately 45 years old, died on impact due to injuries incompatible with life.
The small-sized plane fell in the yard of the former freight wagon factory on Aurel Vlaicu Road in Arad town, which closed in June. However, a few employees were present to guard the perimeter and called emergency services.
Sources involved in the investigation told AGERPRES that the plane had taken off from the Siria airfield (about 25 kilometers away) and was headed to land in Arad.
Firefighters, medical teams, and investigators are present at the scene.
