The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu, and prime minister Nicolae Ciuca are going to pay an official visit to the Republic of Korea, between December 20 and 23.
According to an internal memorandum approved on Thursday by the Standing Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies, the visit takes place at the invitation of the president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Kim Jin-pyo.
"The visit will be a reference moment for the resizing of the parliamentary dialogue with the corresponding legislative forum in Seoul and will contribute to the development of Romanian-Korean cooperation, as well as to the promotion of projects of common interest," the document reads.
The delegation of the Chamber of Deputies led by Marcel Ciolacu will include the leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) deputies, Alfred Simonis, Eugen Bejinariu (PSD), Ben-Oni Ardelean (National Liberal Party, PNL) and Liviu Sova, advisor to the President's Chancellery.
The official delegation that will participate in this action will also have a government component formed by premier Nicolae Ciuca, Sorin Grindeanu - minister of Transport, Angel Tilvar - minister of Defense, Sebastian Burduja - minister of Research, Florin Spataru - minister of Economy, Virgil Popescu - minister of Energy, Ligia Deca - minister of Education, Cosmin Ghita - managing director of Nuclearelectrica.
According to the draft schedule, meetings are planned with the president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, with the prime minister and with representatives of the management of some major companies, including Samsung, as well as a meeting with the representatives of the Romanian community in this country. Trips to the Busan region and the Panmunjom Demilitarized Zone are also planned.AGERPRES
