People who want to learn to make their own traditional shirt like the ones that are made in Bihor County have the opportunity to learn under the guidance of specialists from the Museum of Tara Crisului (MTC) in Oradea, which has started a pilot project for the next half a year, until June 24, told Agerpres.

"The project was conceived in a very practical way so that the participants in the workshops proposed by the colleagues from the ethnography department will learn, by June next year, to make their own traditional shirt, together with our specialized museographers. I no longer have heard of such a project in Romania, although there are occasional workshops, but not for such a long duration as this project will be," MTC manager Gabriel Moisa told AGERPRES on Tuesday.

The workshop will take place between November 10, 2022 and June 24, 2023, with a monthly frequency, at the initiative and under the guidance of museographer Simona Bala.

"We intend to participate with out shirts branded in Bihor in a joint exhibition that will take place on the Romanian Blouse Day [Ziua Iei - in Romania - editor's note]. We are waiting for everyone who is interested in our Bihor traditions to come, because the workshop will be, basically, a sitting room, in which they will work together, as in the old days, having the opportunity to be directly inspired by ethnographic pieces in the museum's heritage and to decorate their shirt using the techniques of ornamentation from the end of the 19th century - the beginning of the 20th century 20th century," Simona Bala told AGERPRES.

The first meeting in this series will take place on Thursday, November 10, at 5.00 pm, in the museum pedagogy hall at the MTC headquarters, Armatei Romane street, no. 1/A.

Concrete practical guidance will also be provided courtesy of a passionate Bihorian traditions, doctor Florina Buda, skilled in sewing and embroidery.

The participation fee is 20 lei/year, representing in fact the participants' registration in the "Friends of the Museum" Association, because the entrance is free for association members. The working materials will be provided by the participants.
