The pair made up of Romanian tennis player Horia Tecau and Dutchman Jean-Julien Rojer qualified on Thursday in Melbourne for the second round of the Australian Open men's doubles by defeating Argentinians Guillermo Duran / Andres Molteni 6-4, 6-3.

Tecau and Rojer, who won the previous Grand Slam tournament, the US Open, are Melbourne's 3rd seeds and won in one hour and 15 minutes.

In last year's edition, Tecau and his partner stopped in the second round, the best results at Melbourne for the Romanian being the quarterfinals of 2012 and 2015.

The Romanian-Dutch pair secured a check for 22,500 Australian dollars and 90 ATP points, and in the second round will face the winners of the match opposing Denis Istomin (Uzbekistan) / Mikhail Kukushkin (Kazakhstan) - Sam Groth / Lleyton Hewitt (Australia).
